This is my stance on the issue of gun control.... it's not the gun that kills, it's the person behind the gun. Unfortunately, too many people point the finger and like to blame anyone and everything else except the cause. A gun is an inanimate object... it doesn't kill anyone on it's own. People need to realize that with everything they do, with everything they purchase, there is a responsibility and a reaction that goes along with that. So if you buy a gun, take responsibility and if you're kid gets into it... don't blame society, don't blame music, and don't blame video games... it was your responsibility to take care of that gun. If you're going to argue that it'll make the streets safer... well most thugs have a gun illegally in the first place... so by creating stricter gun control, it just raises the percentage of thugs who own guns compared to the law abiding citizens who legally own guns. If you outlaw them all together... well, then you still end up with criminals owning guns regardless of those laws.

I'm sorry if this sounds crude. If you disagree... great! It's our freedom to have opinions and let's all curse the day when we don't have the right to disagree. I grew up in a very red-necked community, so of course I'm going to be influenced by this.
